Govenor of the State of Mississippi

The idea of a torpedo to destroy boats in rivers suggests that Similar Engines may be constructed & sunk under a rail road track & so arranged that the weight of the Locomotive car would press down the rail & touch the trigger that explodes the torpedo & blow the ~~engn~~ Locomotive car to attoms or off the track & render the train ~~over~~ easy of capture & the road dangerous & uncertain for Military purposes

A common ~~gorden~~^garden^ post auger would ensure to S excavate for the Location of the engine & cuts & fill the best points for location

If the idea is practicable its early ^use^ may save Miss many thousands & much suffering
