Dear Sir

I arrived home on Tuesday evening and Thursday morning Lieut Barns came and told me I had to go to Raleigh and draw, I told him I had just got home from Jackson and you told me my Furlough was good, he said that he knew that it would not do,. I will be very much oblige to you if you will be kind enough to give ^me^ some thing to shew that you have approved my furlough and that I am detailed as a Black smith for this—neighborhood
