Gov. John J. Pettus

Sir; believing that I will be of more service to the country, by remaining at home to do police duty in the neighborhood, I here by offer my resignation of the office 1_st Lieut, Co. A., 4_th Battalion, Mis. State Troops, as final, and to take effect immediately.
