Duggins Landing March 25 1863

I write to you for the purpose of making application for the appoint-ment of H, Dunnahoo 1^st Lieut Co D 26^th Miss Regt, to raise a company of Partisan Rangers in Tishomingo County. H. Dunnahoo is first Lieut in Co D as above stated, ~~but~~ but having had rheumatism can not march so well on foot and consequently is not suited well for the infantry service, Mr Dunnahoo is a citizen of Tishomingo County is well acquainted and could I think easily succeed in raising the company if you will authorize him to do so.

Please give this your earliest attention.
