I wish to know wheather or not when you Tranfured Company No 3 of Major Words Artilry betalion to the Confederate Servise if the Confederate Goverment received the Companys with their offersers or not wheather or not our Comissions war Recognized by the Confederacy or not for I was A Lieutenent in Company No 3 & when our betalion was put in hevy Artilry my off. was Takin away by our not Having but few Pesis & I was Ordered to report to you which I don & I have never bin Cald back to my Company & now they have bin trying to Conscripe me I have A Comission from under your hand with the Seal of the State too it Given on the 26 day of May one Thousand ^Eight Hundred^ & Sixty too for Three years or the war, Govner Pettis I want to know wheather they can Sconscript me or not if they can I want to Joint Som Company that I please & if you Can do Eney thing for me let me know I don duty in my Company from the fift of may till the ninth of September & drowed money from the Confedercy all the time that I was out but the month of August that Survice I have not got my Pay for yet I was out till I lost a crop & have not got all my pay yet I have not tryed for it Sence I was down their let me heare from you immeditly So that I will know what to do write to Oakland.
