To his Excellency, W. L. Sharkey
Prov. Gov. of Miss.

The undersigned Citizens of the town of Lexington would respectfully represent unto your Excellency that said town was Incorporated in 18548, the Municipal officers being a Mayor, five Selectmen & a constable, and they would further represent that there has been no Election for officers Since—day of April 1862, The charter of Incorporation providing for biennial elections; and no use of the above officers for more than twelve months. We would respectfully ask that Wallace Wilson a Justice of the Peace for this County and a Citizen

of this town be ordered to hold an election to fill the above named offices, having first given five days notice.
