Columbus, Miss. July 14, 1864

We the undersigned called upon by E. C. Eggleston Shff of Lowndes County to appraise One Brown Mule impressed by him from R. A. Caruthers by order of Gov.^r Clark, do hereby certify that we have carefully ex-amined said Mule and value the same at the sum of Eight hundred Dollars, which we deem a fair & just valuation.

And I, Edw^d. C. Eggleston, Shff as aforesaid do hereby certify that I have this day impressed from the said R. A. Caruthers the above mentioned brown Mule by order of Gov. Clark for the Department of Lt. Genl Lee.
