Know all men by these presents that we John W Boyd principal and J W Gitchell [gap] and James N Barnard securities are held and firmly bound unto the state of Mississippi in the penal sum of Five Thousand ($5000⁰⁰) dollars for the payment of which We bind our heirs executors and assigns firmly by these presents given under our hands and seals this the 6^thday of October A D 1864

But the condition of the above obligation is such the above bound John W. Boyd having been appointed a dispenser of spirituous liquors for the County of Sunflower Now is the said John W Boyd shall faithfully discharge the duties of Such Agency And Shall acc=ount and pay over to the state all money arrising from the sale of Said spirits—and Shall properly dispose of all spirituous liquors placed in his Charge And shall on the termination—of his agency deliver to the state all liquor that has not been previously sold or lawfully disposed of then this obligation to be void—otherwise to remain in full force and effect
