To His Excellency Charles Clark
Gov of Miss

Col. A. T. Brown whose Letter accompanies this is desirous of obtaining some employment under your state govt The col is a native & refugee from Ky He is a gentleman of fine business ability was clerk of the provisional Govt of Ky & gave satisfaction in that capacity He is exempt from military service & is a cripple I hope that if it be in your power & not incompatible with the public interests that you may be able to render him the desired assistance
