this the 21 [gap] 1864

kind gentleman i seat my self to write to you a few lines to let you know something about my condition when i was permitted to come to my home i found my family very near suffering i have a large family i have 6 Small children i have just got in business so that i can keep my family from Suffering i am on polise guard discharging my duty in that way i am just as willing to discharge my duty in the Service as any man but my family is in a bad condition for me to leave them now i have nothing provided for them to live on i have had no chance

i would be thankful to you kind gentleman if you will let me of this time. it will give me a little chance to provide for my family i am discharging my duty here at home i am willing to discharge my duties any place but i want a little chance to provide for my family to live and not Suffer if you will be so kind as to let me stay at home this time Just write me a few lines and if you cant let me Stay at home please let me know by writing to me few lines

I have bin in the army and have bin discharged because I was coroner of the county i dont think it is right to put me on the Service again if you can give me 30 days furloed i will be oblige to you R R W turman
