I hoped that you or the committee will be so kind as to recommend me to the clemency of the Governor I am away from my Dear Mother who is in distressed circumst-ances and needing the assistance of her only child I am on Valewood Plantation; I so hope that I will meet with favor, My time is out in Jun next, but beg that I may be permited to go much earlier to her.
