We, Grand Jurers of the State of Miss=issippi for the county of Leake, inform [?] present:

That Bascom Ramsey, on the 1^st day of March A. D. 1871 at said county of Leake in and before the persons of John Sullivan willfully, feloniously and of his malice forethought did make and assault on him, the said John Sullivan, wilfuly, feloniously and of his malice aforethought, then and there did kill and murder against the peace and dignity of the State of Mississippi
