Dear Sir⁠—

Up in this section of the state we have submitted to the exactions of the Mobile & Ohio R. R, we think long enough; and it is proposed to make a change if possible in its directory, at the next annual meeting of the stockholders on the 18^th proximo.

If you will honor me with the proxy of the state, I will endeavor to cast the role for the best men we can get. The discriminations against points in our state amount to a direct tax, that is too heavy to be borne long or patiently. The present management present too to the stockholders the anomalous condition of a body, with more work offered, than they can do, upon their own terms, and yet make no money.

It is thought that the road can easily pay its interest and make a dividend for its stockholders too, & that by a much juster, not to say liberal course towards its patrons.
