SHERIFF'S OFFICE, PANOLA COUNTY,
Panola, Miss., 24th Jan'y 1871

Sir:—

I have the honor to ack-nowledge you the receipt of His Excellency, the Governor's favor of January 23^rd 1871, granting a respite until the 17th day of Feb.y 1871 to one Solomon Bills, now in Custody and sentenced at the November term ¹⁸7⁰ of the Circuit Court of Panola County, to suffer death by hanging on the 27th day of January 1871.
