From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Governor Alcorn Collection. Letter from P. A. Strobecker to Mississippi Governor James L. Alcorn. Strobecker requests that he be appointed to the position of Justice of the Peace in Washington County, Mississippi. He writes that currently there is only a one Magistrate and he is gone on business often which means the citizens of the Washington County are traveling to Greenville, Mississippi to conduct their business.
