Dear Sir

No doubt your correspondents are numerous, and I would not have intruded, but realy there is a move=ent among the discontents, that I would rejoyced to see thwarted, I am an old man, and never meddle in polotick, am and as were my my uncles in Carolina and Old line Henry Clay Whig, and consequently have noticed a certain party whoes motto it seems rule or ruin.. And there is a move among them, as I am well informed in this County, in the event of an election for County Officers, to hold conventions and nominate candidates and if posible beat the apponties there has been ever Since these appointments among certain leaders an opposition. Col W. H. H. Tyson addressed a crowd last Summer, and vented ^his^ spleen. and in the event of an electeon this Nov^r. I do think there would be any thing than a desirable state of things, much would be avided to have the election come off at the end of your or successors administration. (Confidential)
