N Piazza & four men with him working his tan said have charge of Govt. hides for me regularly detailed by conscript officers to my department as Conscript They have twenty five hundred sides in vats, I have told him they could not under circumstances be enrolled in militia as they are under control of commandant of conscripts he is allowed wants to do his duty & not be molested
