I have been commissioned by our State Legislature, to visit Europe in connection with "Direct Trade" between the Southern States and the Continent of Europe. has Mississippi taken any action in the premise, I would be pleased to hear from you. I think that the South the Section that Produces 45 prct of the wealth of the whole country, ought certainly to take some interest in "Direct Trade" that will break the shackles that bind her to the north, and elevate her to a position commensurate with her inherent wealth anticipating an answer I am Respectfuly
