Dear Sir,

I address you for the purpose of asking your oficial aid in bringing a fugitive to justice, on or about the 24" June last, one John Craig was arrested under a warrant issued by J, S, Wilson Justice of the Peace in and for the county of Bolivar Miss, on a charge of trading with Slaves without permission according to law, and for allowing Gaming on his Boat, also for keeping open doors on Sunday; I was his surety for his appearance on the next day before said J, S, Wilson, he failed to appear and left the State, he is now in the State of Arkansas, If I am not mistaken I have the right to a requisition on the Governor of Arkansas, for his arrest, if so you will issue it and send it to, yours Truly
