Enclosed please find a Requisition from the Gov. of Ala. for one Alex. Autry, who is now confined in the Jail of Noxubee county on a charge of larceny committed in Clarke County ^Miss^, on the 4th monday of Aug. inst. to await the action of the Grand Jury on said charge of larceny.

We are fearful that the proof will be insufficient to get a bill of indictment for larceny committed in this, Clarke, Coun=ty, and in the event that said Autry is not indicted here, we desire that your cause to be given to ^the Sheriff of Clarke County, Miss,^, ~~W. E. Powe~~ authority to deliver the said Autry to W. E. Powe

who has authority from the Gov. of Ala. to take said Autry to Ala. there to tried according to law—

The evidence, before the Magistrate on which he was committed, as to the possession of the negro in this State was merely circumstantial, and fearing a failure to convict, we desire his removal to Ala—where the testimony is positive.

You will therefore please issue the nec=essary papers and forward to me, as Court will soon sit here.
