My friend Capt James Rhea of Tuscumbia Alabama is an applicant for the office of Special Male Agent for the State of Alabama—He has long been con-nected with the Post offices at Tuscumbia; he has been my ~~Ass=~~ Assistant since I have been Post Master of Memphis and I feel sure that there is no man in your Confederacy more familiar with Postal affairs than Mr Capt Rhea or better prepared to fill the office of Mail Agent—He is an old State-Rights Democrat; a gentle-man of intelligence and the strict-est integrity & you could not confer a greater favor on me than by inter-esting yourself with Mr. Ellett in securing him the place to
