My Brother D^r James S. Washington wishes a situation as Surgeon or assistant Surgeon in the Southern army. He is a graduate of Philadelphia, and is fully worthy of the situation in every respect, being well qualified, and possessed of fine habits. Any favor you will bestow upon him will be very highly appreciated by your friend and one who feels deeply interested in your cause

P. S. When Ever the vote is left to the people Arkansas will be certain to secede, I know not of a dissenting voice in this portion of the state
