At a Regular meeting of the Swan Lake Rangers on Parade Ground, July 6^th 1861

On motion Capt J. T. Simmons was called to the chair & W. S. Warren act Secretary,,

It was moved that George M. Hibbler be expelled from the Company for the Heinous offence of shooting of worthy Brother Soldier & Neighbor Col. Felix Jones and that a Committe of three be appointed to draft Resolution expressing the sence of this meeting, and Requesting the Governor. of the State to offer a Reward for the apprehension of the said George M Hibbler whereupon the chair ^appointed^ the following named Gentlemen as Committe. Cullen Barron C. H. Hunt A. F. Marshall and on motion the chairman was added to the committee the committee Retired. and be beleave to Report the following—

We the Committee appointed to report upon the motion of I. L. Champion touching the murder of Felix Jones Esq. by George M. Hibbler. by leave to report,

~~Hibble~~ That George M Hibbler did on Monday the 24^th day of June last without cause with premed-itated malace. we task

and shoot our friend and Brother Felix Jones while traveling from Friars Point to his Home, without giving him any warning or chance for his life. and whereas the said Hibbler did immediately after the execution of the deed flee the Country and is now at large, so that merited Justice can-not be executed upon him, therefore Resolve that the Governor of Miss, be and ~~and~~ he is hereby requested to offer a reword for the apprehention of the said Hibbler so that Justice may be had or done in the premises.

Resolve. That in as much as of a reward of $500 has been offered by Probate parties for his apprehension, the Governor of the State be requested. also to offer a reword in some degree proportioned with the Heinous offence, so that he may be apprehended and brought back to this country
