Dear Sir:

Some weeks ago. a vol-unteer company was or-ganized in this county. Known by the name of "The Bull-mountain Scouts," of which I was elected captain. I have been very busily engaged in making preparation for going into Survice. I have been commissioned and my company received, as you doubtless remember. I have been at consider-able expense and lost much time since I have been elected.

in making the necessary arrangements for going to "the wars." Some of the company become dissatisfied, and are unwilling to go: others have gone to Gen. Alcorn's Brigade, and are now in Col. Simonton's Regiment but they have not yet been mustered into survice About fifty of the company are here. some of that number are, or seem, determined not to go.

I have made arrangements to rendavous at Granada in a few days. Now what am I to do? Must the com-pany be disbanded, and remain at home in inglorious ease? or must they be brought together and in obedience to the

call of the country, Stand out in bold relief in the cause of Southern indep-enence? As I have before Said, Some twenty of them are in Col Simonton's Reg. and that gentleman by your Sanction will give them up. (as they are not mustered in.)

Please write me by return mail what course to take in the affair and oblige yours most Respectfully.
