Dear Sir,

I take the liberty of introducing to you Major John Weedon of this city—Maj. Weedon goes to your state on a business mission for the Oxford [?] Company—and I give him this letter that he may not be in want of friends in case of need—He is one of our best citizens; I hope you will extend him such facilities as your convenience will allow—

My [?] Col. E. W. Pettus, was at leave on fur=lough, a few days since, but he returned to his assinment, at Decherd, Tenn. He is in very fine health, hopeful as to the result of our revolution—
