Meridian March 13^th 1862.

To his excellency J. J. Pettus, Gov of the state of Mississippi.

We the undersigned would most respectfully inform you that each of our commands have this day agreed to go into the service during the war. and hereby most earnestly request you to transfer us from the 12 months service to W. F. Tucker's Regiment which is for the war to rendezvous at Verona.
