Dear Sir

Under the orders of Brig Gen. Davis the Minute men of Kemper have been organized & ordered to go to Columbus, and I have appointed saturday, the 30^th inst to go up, I have been credibly informed that there has been some difficulty in several cases with the Min-ute Men for want of sup-plies at places of rendezvous we are law abiding men in Kemper, & expect to do our duty, but we would like to have some assurance that we will be provided for while in the field, Some are very much opposed to this movement & will throw every obstacle in the way possible but it strikes me that if

properly carried out it will do very well, I am not cer-tain that I understand the plan of Gen Davis, but I understand that the intention is to keep 14 of the Millitia in camp of inStruction.

Please do me the favor to write to me at this place and give me all the inform-ation necassary for my guidance in the matter And oblige

J R Dunap a private in the army was wounded in the battle of Shiloh & was sent off home His Reg has since been ord-ered to Va, he is now ready to return but cant get transporta-tion, his Reg has been sent of to Va sinc, Cant you help him..
