Arkansas--Office of the Secretary of State

Operating at the state level, the Office of the Secretary of State of Arkansas was established by the Arkansas Constitution (1836) on January 30, 1836. It is an office within the Executive Department, headed by the Secretary of State who is primarily responsible for the oversight of elections, production of educational materials on Arkansas history, providing services to individuals and companies doing business with the state, and maintenance of the Arkansas State Capitol and its grounds.
