Alabama--Legislature

Operating at the state level, the Alabama State Legislature (also known as the General Assembly) was established by Article III of the Alabama Constitution (1819) on July 5, 1819. It is a bicameral body, divided into the upper house (State Senate) and the Lower House (State House of Representatives) and is responsible for making and amending the laws of the state.
