Commonly known as the Winston Guards, Company A of the 13th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry (Confederate) was first organized as Company B on March 16, 1861 in Winston County, Mississippi under the command of Capt. John M. Bradley and served in the Eastern Theater. It was reorganized as Company A on April 26, 1862 under the command of Capt. Neville Edmunds and was later commanded by Capt. Sil J. Quinn.
