Arkansas--General Assembly

Operating at the state level, the Arkansas State Legislature, also known as the General Assembly, was established by the Arkansas Constitution (1836) on January 30, 1836. It is a bicameral body, divided into the upper house (State Senate) and the lower house (State House of Representatives) and is responsible for making and amending the laws of the state.
