Scarcely do I know how to address your Excellency in a man^n^er suitably to express the mingled feelings I have experienced during my imprisonment. I have suffered very much, both in body and mind. my health is very much impaired which I never enjoy a well day or a meals vituals I am sentenced here for three years half of it I have served the other half, I am not able serve. I can not go through as much more bodily pain, or the grief & sorrow I have experienced here, & which I believe to be the main cause of my sickness. I am now confined to my cell sick & hardly able to write. The proceedings of my trial &c I am told are in the executive office. I beg your excellency to examine them at some early period & if you can turn me out upon them, for god's sake do it. you shall never have cause to regret it; I declare I am no part of a caitiff & do not deserve such awfull punishment as this if I am pardoned I will leave immediately & go to my friends in Kentucky. I have conducted myself since here as well as I could & I am confident that the officers here are all willing to give me a certificate of good behavior since here. I am a stranger without money or friends I have got all I can get & pray that it is sufficient for your excellency to pardon me.

While I promise your Excellency, To reverence the law's of god, and make religion and virtue, the leaders of my daily life though the future
