At the last term of the Marion County Circuit Court Judge M^c,,Nair find Col Evan Powell $100 for contempt of court. Col Powell is an old and respectable citi=zen of that county.

Judge McNair informs me that he is perfe=ctly willing that you should remit the fine and I hope you will do so.
