Honored Sir

Wishing to leave the Institution to which I now belong I have determined to apply for a place among the commission-ed officers of Miss. My resi-dence is in Tunica Co. near Austin. I will be pleased to accept any office you may con-fer within the line of commiss-ioners. I have attended the Mil—Academy at La Grange Ala since Sept 1858 in which time I have been drilled in Scott's Infantry tactics once each day. If there is any
