Govenor Pettus Dear Sir

Allow me to call your attention to sum Small Items (Viz) A few weekes sinc under order of Genl, R, Davis I, was Elected Capt. Co. A. Lauderdale Mi, Mi, Subsequently he ordered 1/4 of the Militia of this County through me, as minute men, also he ordered me to organise Co D which Company was destitute of officers, I made an order to one of said Company to hold an Election for captain &c & give me 1/4 of his Men as also I, did with other companies under order as above the other companies Except Co, D, Responded to my order Co, D, in order to Evade the order in my Judgement, held a caucus and as sum thirty-seven or 40 of them volunteered as they call it & refused to go with the minute men whoe are now at Meridian and complain=ing that those others are not called out &c—I think that they should be in the service as well as those that are in. and if they can be had there I. wish it may be dun, in sum way, &c I, ask your consideration on this, also I. would be grateful ^to^ you if you will direct me a coppi of the Militia laws to Marion Station I. would also state to you that I, have not receive my commition, also that there are no other officer in my company.
