Sir:

The proceeds of the Concert lately given by Madam Rhul, has been tendered to me for the use of the sick at this post. but as the Hospitals had funds on hand, I declined to receive it, & have since learned that it will be used for the benefit of the poor families, in and around Jackson.

Madam Rhul, will give another Concert (the proceeds to be applied as above) provided you Consent for the use of the Representatives Hall, can be had, & she requested me to see you on the subject, knowing your Constant Care for and attention to the destitute. I have not thought it amiss to address you this note, hoping for a favorable answer.
