Dear Sir; I take pleasure in reporting to you, that Capt E J Runels, (Drill Master,)—for this. Regt. has performed his duty well. He has been with us about two month, during which time he has been studiously devoted to drilling this Regt, and I must say, that under his supervision and ins-truction my Regt has advanced rapidly. Capt., E. J. Runnels, until now, has never been absent a day from the Regt, since his first connection with it. I commend him to your ^favorable^ consideration for his devotion, perseverance and gentlemaly deportment in all his relations with us, The health of my Regt, is very good at present.
