Much Respected Sir

Suffer me to make a fiew Statements to your Honor.

In the commencement of the presant war my only Son responded to his Cuntrys call not being then 18 years of age; and has bin in the most bloody battls on record and is Still in the army I have bin vary much afflicted for the last 5 years and I have bin teaching School for the last Three years. and I have a School at this time of some Twenty odd Schollors, and on the 27^th Inst. I was drafted I beg your Honor to do me the favour to retain me at home If your Honor will be so Kind as to let me continue my school you will confur a grate favour on one of your perticular Friends
