His Excellency
Gov^r Clarke

Dear Sir

We have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of yours of the 20^th Inst. to Mr Humphries & ourselves.

We have drawn a new Contract Con-formable to your views since our interview and have aded 3,000 pairs of Cards more, s[page torn] as to Cover the demand for the woolen Cards

The Blanks for the Clothing &c and the amount of Cotton shiped on that account, will be filled up so as to Meet your views: and if a farther Credit is deemed necessary over the 150,000$ we think we shall be able t Carry it.

We feel fully confident we shall be able to operate simultaneously through Memphis & New Orleans.

A party in the latter place is in possession of permits of trade that we shall be able to Controll.
