Gov. Charles Clark

Dear Sir

I telegraphed you on yesterday that I had secured $10,000 of Medicines & the needles. The Med: Con-Sists chiefly of Quinine & a few other articles.

I am assured the remander of the Medicine [page torn] [?] in the [?][page torn][?] [page torn] cards were not[page torn] N. Orleans [page torn] have to come [page torn] that is [page torn] [?] if arra[page torn]e shall [page torn] to get them u[page torn] work [page torn] the bulk would[page torn]eght [page torn]eat the whole A[page torn]

[page torn]have men at [page torn]ucceed [page torn]any one can—[page torn] [?] [page torn] will be Sent out to BrooK Haven ofwhich you will be advised by Telegram.

I am very anxious to suceed regardless of any proffit in so [lucka-ble?] an enterprise. The people here give me all the assistance in their power.

I will Keep you properly posted and ~~So So~~ if I am broken up, Shall advise

you promptly, that you may try others but I apprehend no such result.

These things are gotten in from Natchez, [gap] The party who was to bring in the Cargo & let us Capture her has gone out—but there is so much Villianry amongst the class of men I rely upon nothing until the result is seen.
