Dear Sir,

Inclosed herewith you will find a Certified Copy of an affidavit by S. Oswal of the Killing of W. Rucker by W^m T Stricklin, and of the warrant issued by T. C. Brown for the apprehension of Stricklin—This is what the Gov told me would be nesessary ~~for~~ in order to Justify him in demanding Stricklin from the Military Authorities—So Soo as the Gov returns be pleased to hand these to him and get him to make the demand at once.

Please write me after he has Made the demand what the result is

Punnally appeared before me T C Brown a Justice of the peace of said County Nicholas Oswill who being duly sworn upon oath Complains that in the [gap] day of August 1864 one William T Stricklin did feloneously Kill & take the life of one W Rucker in Said County by shooting with a pistol contrary to law. & against the peace and dignity of the state of Mississippi

You are hereby Commanded in the name and by authority of the State of Mississippi to take the body of the above names William T. Stricklin and forthwith bring him before me or Some other Justice of the peace of said County at my Office in Okolona to Answer the above Complaint of feleneously Killing &take-ing the life of said W Rucker and further to be dealt with according to law.
