Governor of the State of Mississippi

Dear Sir,

I respectfully solicited at the hands of your Excellency, the apointment of Com=missioner for the State of Mississippi at Mobile. Enclose I send you a letter from His Excellency Gov. Tho^s H. Watts I am a Son of Sidney T. Douglas, whom you recently commissioned, and am associated with him in business, and from years of experience, am familiar with the Duties of Commissioner.
