The State of Mississippi,
COUNTY OF ~~County~~ ^Claiborne^

Know all Men by these Presents, That we G. W. Humphreys Principal, and D. G. Humphreys and B. Humphreys Sureties, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Mississippi in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars, to be paid to the said State, to which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 19^th day of October A. D. 1864

Whereas, The above principal obligor has been appointed by the Governor of said State agent to dispense liquors, in the County above named, according to the provisions of an Act, entitled "An Act to prevent the distillation of spirituous liquors, and to declare distilleries to be public nuisances, and to authorize the same to be abated, and for other purposes"⁠—approved April 5th, 1864. Now if the said principal obligor shall faithfully discharge the duties of such agency, and account and pay over to the State all money arising from sale of said spirits, and properly dispose of all spirituous liquors placed in his charge, and at the termination of his agency shall deliver to the State all that has not been previously sold and lawfully disposed of, then this obligation to be void, else to be and remain in full force and virtue.

Personally came before the undersigned Justice of the Peace in and for said County, B. Humphreys S^r & D G Humphreys Sureties in the above bond, and made oath that they are worth the sum of Five Thousand Dollars in property in this State over and above their debts and liabilities.

COUNTY OF Claiborne

I, G. W. Humphreys, having been appointed by the Governor of the State of Mississippi an Agent to dispense spirituous liquors in the said County for medical use, do solemnly swear that I will, without fear, favor or affection, dispense all spirits placed in my hands, or which may come within my control, in strict accordance with the law under which my appointment is made, and without any evasion, subterfuge or chicane of any sort.
