Having been duly appointed, I this day assume Command, and enter upon the duties of Provost Marshal and Commander of Militia of Bolivar County Miss—

Planters will immediately make written contracts with their Servants, up to Jany 1^st 1866 and Register the same with me.

After said contracts are Registered, I will see that the employer deals fairly and justly with the servant; And He ^the servant^ remains for the time contracted and faithfully performs his duty

For misdemeanors and officers of the servant the punishment's used in the Army of the United States, will be promplty administered

The Militia will be immediately enrolled to support and carry out my orders
