Dear Sir:

I am a lawyer of more than thirty years' standing, have been Judge for some years, and was formerly a member of both houses of Congress from this State, and, now that the war is over, have a strong inclination to go South and practice my profession. Will there not be much litigation growing out of the Confiscation act of the U. S. Congress, as also out of the Seques-tration act of the late Confederate Congress and other matters connected with the war?

I should like to form a partnership with some able resident lawyer. Will you have the kindness to give me your advice and make suggestions on the subject?
