Dear Sir—I see by your order, that all assessors and collectors are required to make a final report to you by the 1^st of October next of the tax collected under your ordinance if 17^th July Isnt. Please write me the particular, and whether I must return the proceed if Cotton tax ^alone^ or the 5 pr cent tax on income and also whether I shall continue to collect the cotton tax after the 1^st of October next No return has been made to me as yet from the assessor of the County for the income or 5 prct tax, and therefore I have made no collections of the income tax as yet. Please wate by next mail, whether your order last published, applys to cotton or income tax, or both, and also whether I must continue the cotton to income tax after 1^st of October next Direct your letter to me at Summit Miss and oblige
