Genl Ames

Dear Sir

On Sunday morning last the 2^d inst George Hamby stabbed to death Solomon Wicks at his home near Pittsb-oro Calhoun County this state. He killed him by assassination giving no notice of intent, and without provocation. The murder was committed about 1100 O C AM. Wicks was a free man, but had land, and his wife offers 160 acres land reward. If you are willing to add to the reward, and take steps for his apprehension, he may be brought to Justice

George Hamby is 22 Years old 5 ft 8 inches high, dark hair & eyes, ^&^ fair complexion. He has two uncles in Scott County Arkansas, and also has Kin in Alabama. He has a wife in Calhoun Co. These are the facts. He is my nephew, but I want him caught and dealt with, as it was a foul murder
