To his Excellency the Govenor—of Miss

Dear sir yours of January 7th/70 came to hand the other day by the Earliest opportunity I Reply

You ask to know the Particulars concerning the murder of Solomon Weeks. His murderer Left the county Immediately after the commission of the crime & after careful Investigation ^(it is my opinion)^ it was one of the most cold Blooded murders I have ever heard of. Hamby's own Relatives do not Justify his killing Wicks
