of the state of Mississippi

You will please accept my resignation as Mayor of Burnsvill Tishemingo County Miss, for reasons Herein stated it is imposible for Me to fill the office of mayor & serve the M, & C, R, R,^Co it is frequently the case that my services are needed while off on duty as a R. R. employee. Consequently I cannot serve the citizens of Burnsvill & the M & C R. R. Co at the same time you will confur a favour, never to be forgotten, By accepting my resignation

I allso take pleasure, in recomending D^r John A Crossland, as a competant person to fill the offices of mayor, as He is in favour of a rigid enforcement of the laws Both state & Corporation. you will pleas Consider the above & Much oblige
