I write to ask if you have a position, worth attention, of a true friend, ~~and~~ worthy of and fully competent, for any position, in the state, or United States,

Should such a place, for such a friend, present Itself, to your mind, hold on to it, until I come up to Jackson, and I will try and show you [page torn] man,

We are all perfectly satisfied in our end of the state with your administration [page torn]nd hate very much to give you up so soon, but [page torn] that your interest demands it. and that [page torn]e need you fully as much in washington, and [page torn]st therefore make the sacrifice.

[page torn]n conclusion, allow me to say, that through plots, [page torn]nd counter plots, through loss, [page torn]nd gain, through [page torn]lory, and disgrace, the holy stream of patriotism glides on, through all your actions, now as in the past. giving daily evidence, of your statesman=ship. and love for the Interest ofor your people.
